Senior
Engineer
POWER ENGINEERING
Irvine, California (1991 to 1997)
Responsible
for testing and analysis of large hydroelectric turbine generators;
including vibration, alignment and thermal characteristics. Analysis
of thrust and guide bearing systems. Design of tooling and machinery
modifications, including generator and turbine components (e.g.
rotor spider, bearing supports, stay vane profiles, etc.). Also
responsible for implementation of a computerized data acquisition
system. Specialist in Finite Element Analysis and implementation.
Mechanical
Engineer
Kemano Generating Station
ALCAN ALUMINIUM, WORKS-POWER
Kemano, British Columbia, (1989 to 1991)
Responsible
for extensive vibration and thermal testing program of a 115 MW
English Electric Generator; co-authored report detailing all findings
and recommendations. Study led to the successful repair and elimination
of generator vibration problem. Other duties included performing
alignment measurements and supporting mechanical maintenance crew
in daily trouble-shooting.
