Directs the
activities of the company to offer quality engineering services
to the mining industry. T he company has been directly involved
in over 21 different projects involving double drum and friction
type mine hoists. The projects have included the design of new
brake controls for existing and new installations, troubleshooting
bearing problems, drum failure and operational problems to establish
repair procedures and supervising the repair, size, review the
condition of used hoists and specify requirements for a new or
used hoist to suit the needs of a new mine. Also, p repares the
designs and specifications for the refurbishing of used hoists
for installation at a new location.

Design, modified
and upgraded more than 30 different mine hoist installations.
Reviewed used mine hoists to determine if the hoist is suitable
for operation at a new installation. Supervised the mechanical
engineering department and set standards for new designs as well
as troubleshoot operational problems of hoists, conveyances and
shaft structures. Willis was also in charged of management of
projects for the supply and installation of hoists and mine equipment.

Willis established
and managed the formation of a new company to manufacture drill
bits for printed circuit boards and also oversaw the day to day
operation of the plant and company.

Managed the
activities of the engineering and maintenance department for the
plant. Also prepared annual capital budget and administered the
development of new equipment for the manufacture of dental burrs.

and changes to mine hoists and sinking equipment. Also d esigned
and installed specialty equipment to meet the needs of the customer,
including conveyors, winches, loading pockets and shaft equipment.

1979 to 1981
Willis was
the supervisor of the technical group supporting the operation
of the maintenance department of the plant. This included the
control and administration of the annual $2M capital budget for
the purchase of new equipment. Also provided technical support
for the maintenance department and troubleshoot for the equipment
and operations in the plant.
